Rolling River is a premier destination for large-scale gatherings, including school celebrations, reunions, and group events for families, friends, and coworkers. Located on over five private acres less than 20 miles from New York City, our easily accessible campus offers flexible spaces, diverse activities, and expert event planning to ensure a seamless picnic experience from start to finish. Frequently Asked Questions
Email events@rollingriver.com to check availability for your preferred date. Once your date is confirmed, you will receive an electronic contract and a $500 deposit will be required to reserve the picnic. The remaining balance is due one week prior to the event and may be paid by cash or check.
Access to facilities depends on the type of picnic package you book. Some packages allow use of the entire outdoor campus, while school picnics follow a scheduled rotation using specific activities at assigned times, which may be either indoors or outdoors.
To ensure your celebration matches your vision, please discuss your goals with our Events Manager and review which activities are included in your package. Any activities not listed in the package will be off limits to guests during the event.
No. Outside food is not permitted during picnics unless specifically discussed with our Events Team. Rolling River offers a wide variety of food and beverage options to fit any budget, and we also partner with specialty caterers, including BBQ vendors and food trucks, for upgraded experiences.
Yes. Alcoholic beverages are allowed; however, all alcohol must be approved, purchased, and served by our Events Team to comply with our liquor license requirements. Guests must be 21 years or older to consume alcohol, and staff will check IDs as needed. Please note that glass bottles are not permitted in the Pool Club area.
Rolling River is easy to reach by car, train, or plane. Guests may park in our main parking lot or on nearby streets. For public transportation, the LIRR East Rockaway station is just one block south of camp and within walking distance. For those traveling from out of town, JFK Airport is less than 8 miles away and accessible by AirTrain or a short cab/ride share trip.
